At Bright City, we believe everything begins and ends with God’s presence. Worship lifts our eyes to who He is, and prayer draws us closer to His heart. Together they shape us as a community, ground us in the gospel, and lead us to live with hope and purpose.

Once a month we set aside time to gather specifically for prayer. These evenings create space to seek God’s presence and intercede for our church, our city, and beyond.

Abbie Thomas

Pastor of Spiritual Formation

Abbie received her M.Div. from Duke Divinity School and stepped into full-time ministry at Bright City after graduating. She is passionate about prayer and spiritual formation, believing that more than changing our circumstances, these disciplines transform us into the likeness of Christ. In her free time, Abbie loves to bake, and she has an ever-increasing love for Nora Ephron movies. To her own surprise, she enjoys watching a good football game with her husband.

Worship Pastor

Alex has served in vocational ministry for nearly a decade, bringing both experience and a deep love for helping people authentically encounter God through worship. With a degree in Worship Ministry, he leads Bright City’s Worship and Production teams, helping create meaningful spaces where hearts can engage with the Lord and be shaped by His presence. Alex is also a husband who loves spending time with his community, exploring local coffee shops, and dabbling in coding and technology.
